42. What are the responsibilities of an educated person? (University of Puget Sound)
Education is a gift. While many people around the world do not have the opportunity or the means to access such facility, it is available to many of us. Armed with an education that has the potential to influence the world around us, educated people should work towards providing the current and next generation a better world.
In order to create a better world, firstly the educated should find a way to effectively provide a substantial education to the uneducated people around world. People should be educated on issues they may be ignorant to. Misconceptions have to be cleared with an understanding that can help solve problems within a community. With the world rapidly moving toward a more electronic age, people need to be equipped with the necessary means to adapt and survive in the ever changing environment and age around us.
The educated should leave a world that is suitable and responsible for the next generation to inherit. In today’s society there are many problems that have been created that are being passed and will be passed to our generations and the ones to follow. The problems that arise and are created should be managed in a way that works toward a more manageable future.
The educated should also act responsibly according to the jobs they are working in and around. They should treat people with respect and understanding. They should do their work honestly and to the best of their abilities to bring about the best solution to any work they may be assigned to do. An educated person should act accordingly to the situation they are presented with at any given moment. They should be reliable people that will work toward responsibly handing the life and future of themselves and the people around them.
