Response: Right after writing an essay on music piracy, this article couldn't help but catch my eye and I thought it would be interesting to share. New features on Facebook have given quite a boost to digital-music sites such as Spotify, Slacker, MOG, and more (although some are still waiting for the new features to take effect). Facebook has seen an increase in shared listening activity among their users and with its new feature, users can see what their friends are listening to with a click of a button. These digital-music sites have also seen an increase in users especially from and through Facebook. Social networking sites such as Facebook are working with digital music sites and companies to allow people to share what they are listening to more easily. I don't music piracy is going to stop in the near future, but I believe that number is going to be decreasing. Soon there will be so many different ways to download and share music in a legal and safe way that music piracy will we the last option we look to. Record companies will have a hard time fighting these new ways because now people are legally listening to any song they want at any time. It'll be interesting to see where all this will lead the future world of digital-music and how it will affect society.
However, on another note, it seems Facebook has found another way to make it easier to stalk friends. Joy! (lol)
